  • Eagle Day planned at Milford Nature Center

    JUNCTION CITY, Kan.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Milford Lake and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism will host the annual Eagle Day event Saturday, January 16, at the Milford Nature Center in Junction City, Kansas. The Nature Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with several free activities including live eagle programs, kid’s crafts and bus rides to eagle viewing stations around Milford Lake.
  • Stockton Lake Eagle Day event cancelled

    STOCKTON, Mo.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Stockton Lake has cancelled the 22nd annual Eagle Day event originally scheduled for Saturday, January 9, due to high water. The marinas used for the boat tours are currently inundated with water. Parking, loading and unloading the boats for the tours, and obstructions in the water, would not be safe for guest tours.
  • Perry Lake hosts successful Wounded Warrior hunt

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Perry Lake recently teamed up with the Perry American Legion Post 142 and Quality Deer Management Association of Atchison, Kansas to host the second annual Wounded Warrior deer hunt December 4-6. Seven Soldiers from Fort Riley’s Warrior Transition Battalion for wounded, ill or injured Soldiers were given the opportunity to hunt deer in areas normally restricted to hunting at Perry Lake.

  • Eagle Day scheduled for Truman Lake

    WARSAW, Mo.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Truman Lake and the Missouri Department of Conservation will host the annual Eagle Day on Saturday, January 9, at the Harry S. Truman Visitor Center. The Visitor Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Live eagle programs will be in the theater, with showings at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. Theater seating is limited, and lines can become long; please plan to come early.
