  • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers encourages visitors to be safe this Memorial Day weekend

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Memorial Day weekend is going to be busy this year. With large crowds of people gathering at the lakes, the potential for drowning and accidents increase. Before you head out for a day on or near the water, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers encourages our visitors to expect the unexpected and think about these four safety tips for Memorial Day and the summer season.

  • Join us for Dam Safety Awareness Day and Promote Dam Safety within our Community

    The Kansas City District, Corps of Engineers will observe National Dam Safety Awareness Day by holding two informational events. The events will be held at 9 a.m. on May 28 at the Litton Visitor Center at Smithville Lake, and at 2 p.m. on May 28 at the Tuttle Creek Lake Visitor Center. John Benson, Dam Safety Program Manager will be available to provide an informational overview and answer questions.

  • Truman Lake beaches set to open for 2015 season

    WARSAW, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Harry S. Truman Lake announced the opening of five swimming beaches on May 15, 2015.

  • Missouri River Committee to meet in South Dakota

    Omaha, Neb. - The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC) will hold its 29th meeting, May 19-21, in Sioux Falls, SD. Public attendance is encouraged, and an opportunity is provided during each daily session for the public to address the Committee and the lead agencies, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), regarding the Missouri River Recovery Program (MRRP).

  • Site Tour and Open House at former Nebraska Ordnance Plant

    MEAD, Neb.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites the public to the annual Site Tour and Open House scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the Main Groundwater Treatment Plant at the junction of County Road 6 and County Road F, in Ashland, Neb.
