  • Construction work near Perry Lake dam during August and September

    PERRY, Kan. – Corps of Engineers staff will be working at Perry Dam in August and September 2018 to rehabilitate the existing ditch located along the downstream toe. This ditch provides drainage to the 32 relief wells located downstream of the dam. The relief wells reduce hydrostatic pressures within the foundation of the dam and improve overall stability. The relief wells and drainage ditch are critical features to the dam and the Corps will rehabilitate the ditch to ensure that the system continues to serve its purpose and the dam can continue to operate safely. While Corps officials do not anticipate any road closures, they do urge caution to drivers near the construction to be aware of trucks and equipment using the toe road of Perry Dam.
  • Perry Lake swim beach closed for 2018 season

    PERRY, KAN. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Perry Lake announce that the public swim beach will be closed for public safety due to ongoing recreation upgrades. Once the improvements to the swim beach are complete, visitors will enjoy new outdoor wash stations and a new restroom. In addition to the recreation upgrades, the Corps is working to stabilize the beach shoreline and adding a retaining wall.
  • Corps prepares for dam inspection at Perry Lake

    PERRY, Kan. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Perry Lake will dewater the water control structures to perform a safety inspection beginning Aug. 17 through Sept. 1. The Outlet Park on both sides of the spillway will be closed to the public throughout this inspection. Dam safety inspections are a vital part of the Corps mission. Formal engineering inspections are performed every five years.
  • Warrior Deer Hunt scheduled at Perry Lake

    PERRY, Kan.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Perry Lake will host the third annual Warrior deer hunt for Soldiers in Fort Riley’s Warrior Transition Battalion Dec. 9 through 11. During this event all ATV Trails, Rock Creek, Perry, Slough Creek and Longview parks will be temporarily closed for public use.
  • Open house scheduled for Clinton and Perry lakes to review seasonal plans for lake elevations

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District at Clinton and Perry Lakes will host a combined open house to review seasonal plans for lake elevations May 25 from 1-3 p.m. at the Clinton Lake project office located at 872 North 1402 Road, Lawrence, Kansas.
