Open house scheduled for Clinton and Perry lakes to review seasonal plans for lake elevations

Published May 10, 2016

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District at Clinton and Perry Lakes will host a combined open house to review seasonal plans for lake elevations May 25 from 1-3 p.m. at the Clinton Lake project office located at 872 North 1402 Road, Lawrence, Kansas.

The informal open house will provide interactive stations to describe how and why these plans are authorized, highlight the major benefits to fish and wildlife and recreation and provide opportunity for input and one-on-one interaction with staff from the Corps and the Kansas Water Office.

Many Corps’ lake projects follow these plans to enhance on-lake fish and wildlife and recreation benefits by operating either a little above or below normal pool level on a seasonal basis. The plans at Clinton and Perry lakes are cooperatively agreed upon between the Corps, the Kansas Water Office and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism.

Comments and questions regarding the open house should be directed to the Clinton Lake project office at (785) 843-7665.
