Public input sought on Water Injection Dredging Study and Demonstration Draft Study Report

The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, has prepared a draft environmental assessment, Finding of No Significant Impact and Section 404(b)(1) Evaluation for the Water Injection Dredging Study and Demonstration Project. USACE is seeking public input on the environmental assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact.

Public invited to attend meeting for Lower Missouri River Holt County spin-off study

Officials will hold a public meeting for the Lower Missouri River Holt County spin-off study on April 1, 2024, in Mound City, Missouri. The meeting, which will be hosted by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, will provide an overview of the study, a status update and an open discussion. This is an opportunity for the public to ask questions and provide input regarding the Lower Missouri River Holt County and Doniphan County spin-off study.

Public invited to meetings scheduled for upcoming Water Control Manual updates

Updates to Water Control Manuals and reviews of the Water Control Plans for Melvern, Pomona and Hillsdale Dams and Reservoirs will be the subject of a series of public meetings held by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in March 2024. Congress provided funding and direction to USACE districts across the country do make administrative updates to the Water Control Manuals, to evaluate Water Control Plans and update as necessary and include a drought contingency plan for managing water releases from reservoirs during drought conditions.

Flood Resiliency Study team to hold public outreach meeting in Brunswick, Missouri

Officials are hosting a public outreach meeting in Brunswick, Missouri, on Monday, December 11, 2023, to discuss the flood resiliency study near Brunswick, Missouri. The meeting will be held at the Knight and Rucker Banquet Hall, 119 East Broadway St, Brunswick, Missouri, 65236. It is hosted by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

USACE to hold public meetings for Draft Master Plan for Harry S. Truman Lake

A draft Master Plan for Harry S. Truman Dam and Reservoir, with an Environmental Assessment and a Finding of No Significant Impact, has been prepared by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is ready for public review. These documents were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and existing USACE policy and regulations. The Master Plan is the strategic land use management document that guides the comprehensive management and development of all projects, recreational, natural and cultural resources throughout the life of the project. The Master Plan guides efficient and cost-effective management, development and use of project lands. It is a vital tool for the responsible stewardship and sustainability of project resources for the benefit of present and future generations.
