KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Officials are hosting a public outreach meeting in Brunswick, Missouri, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, to discuss progress on the flood resiliency study near Brunswick.
The meeting will be held at the American Legion Hall Post #7 209 W. Broadway St., Brunswick, MO, 65236. It is hosted by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The meeting room is ADA accessible.
Doors will open at 4:45 p.m. USACE will give a presentation starting at 5:00 p.m. providing an overview of the study, progress made to date and next steps in the study. A round table discussion will occur after the presentation to answer questions and receive feedback from the public and local stakeholders. The meeting will adjourn at 7:00 p.m. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will be available for additional conversation until 8:00 p.m.
The study area is along the left bank of the Missouri River and bordered by the Grand and Chariton Rivers. This area includes the city of Brunswick and the area behind Missouri River Levee System (MRLS) L-246 within Chariton County, Missouri.
