    The Northwestern Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will conduct a comprehensive overview of the Missouri River in both the Omaha and Kansas City districts May 29 and 30 for U.S. Senators Roy Blunt of Missouri and John Hoeven of North Dakota.

  • Public Hearing held on Jameson Island Project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District (Corps) and the Missouri Clean Water Commission (Commission) held a joint public hearing on Monday in regards to the Jameson Island Shallow Water Habitat Restoration Project at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) office in Jefferson City, Mo. to a crowd of approximately 120 people.
  • KDHE issues blue-green algae advisory for Milford Lake

    The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) samples recreational bodies of water for cyanobacteria, commonly called blue-green algae, when the agency is alerted to a potential algae bloom. When harmful algal blooms are present, KDHE, in cooperation with the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism and other lake managers where appropriate, responds by informing the public of these conditions. Based upon sampling results and established health risk levels, Milford Lake is currently under an “Advisory” status.
