  • Eagle Day scheduled for Truman Lake

    WARSAW, Mo.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Truman Lake and the Missouri Department of Conservation will host the annual Eagle Day on Saturday, January 9, at the Harry S. Truman Visitor Center. The Visitor Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Live eagle programs will be in the theater, with showings at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. Theater seating is limited, and lines can become long; please plan to come early.

    MANHATTAN, Kan.,— On Saturday, Jan. 3, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake will sponsor a free Eagle Day program for an impressive 27th year. The bald eagle was adopted as our national symbol in 1782. At that time, there were as many as 50,000 nesting pairs in the lower 48 states.
