  • Corps of Engineers to host 25th Eagle Days event at Smithville Lake

    SMITHVILLE, Mo.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites the public to Smithville Lake’s 25th Annual Eagle Days in Smithville, Mo., Jan. 4 and 5, 2020. The two-day event is highlighted by live predatory bird programs hosted by Operation Wildlife on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. at the Paradise Pointe Golf Course Complex. Several other vendors will participate Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Eagle viewing stations with spotting scopes and agency personnel will be available to help visitors view live eagles in the wild.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake will host Tuttle Creek Eagle Day, Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event begins at the fire station located on the corner of Denison and Kimball Avenues in Manhattan, Kan.

    The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Stockton Lake near Stockton, Mo. will host an Eagle Day with partners on Jan. 12, 2019. At the beginning of each year, the Stockton Lake Association, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, and the Missouri Department of Conservation combine forces to bring the community a spectacle of nature’s beauty known as Eagle Day. The 25th annual Eagle Day will be held on January 12th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

  • Eagle Days scheduled at Smithville Lake

    SMITHVILLE, Mo.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites the public to Smithville Lake’s 23rd Annual Eagle Days in Smithville, Mo., Jan. 6 and 7, 2018. “Nearly 1,500 attend this event annually,” said Derek Dorsey, Smithville Lake park manager. “This will be the 23rd year the Corps of Engineers has hosted this event and we appreciate working with our local partners to ensure the attendees have a great experience at the Smithville Lake Eagle Days.”
