  • Corps of Engineers at Harry S. Truman Lake relocating some recreation amenities

    Warsaw, Mo. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announce the courtesy docks at Harry S. Truman Lake are temporarily removed for use from December 1 through February 29, 2022 and will not collect day use fees for those amenities.
  • Friends of Brush Creek park and boat ramp closed at Harry S. Truman Lake

    Warsaw, Mo. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Harry S. Truman Lake announce the closure of Friends of Brush Creek park and boat ramp due to public safety concerns associated with a failing culvert underneath the park’s entrance road. Visitors to the area are encouraged to use other nearby areas for boat launch purposes to include the City of Osceola Ramp, Crowe’s Crossing and Sac River Access. Please obey road and ramp closure gates and signage.

    Kansas City, Mo. - Most New Year celebrations are recognized on January 1, we always celebrate October 1, and this year, we had a good reason to do just that. After nearly two years of pushing forward during the pandemic, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, continued to support the Heartland and the nation in several ways.
  • Corps of Engineers announces temporary road closures across Smithville Dam

    SMITHVILLE, Mo. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Smithville Lake are making repairs to an aging culvert under Litton Way, which will result in temporary road closures for safety. Improvements to the culvert under the roadway will provide extended longevity for travelers. The contractor, HK Solutions Group, will close a section of Litton Way beginning 7 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021. This road closure is estimated to last through Wednesday or Thursday, depending on the repairs and potential weather delays.  During this time, vehicles can access Smithsfork Drive from DD Highway and Litton Way. Please plan for detours during this time.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District operates 18 lakes across Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska and we like to think of ourselves as “Lake Life Coaches”. As the summer comes to an unofficial close this Labor Day weekend, we want to offer water safety tips and Lake Life advice to live by.
