MARQUETTE, Kan.– The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kanopolis Lake will host its special muzzleloader deer hunt on Corps of Engineers land on the backside (east) side of the dam.
The hunt, a muzzleloader only hunt event, will allow hunters that have a hunter education certificate or valid hunting licenses, to be drawn from a pool of applicants to hunt at the assigned area. Hunters are required to carry a “special hunt” permit issued by the Corps of Engineers and follow all Kansas statutes. Normally, hunting below the dam at Kanopolis Lake is limited to shotgun and archery methods only.
