• Missouri River committee to meet in Nebraska

    Omaha, Neb. - The Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC) will hold its 27th meeting November 04-06 in La Vista, Neb. Public attendance is encouraged, and an opportunity is provided during each daily session for the public to address the Committee and the lead agencies, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), regarding the Missouri River Recovery Program (MRRP).
  • Army Corps of Engineers waives day use fees at recreation areas on Veterans Day

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that it will waive day use fees for veterans, active and reserve component service members, and their families at the more than 2,200 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide on Veterans Day, November 11.
  • Corps maintains high releases to reduce future flood risk

    Omaha, Neb. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Missouri River Basin Water Management Division is maintaining above normal releases at the four lower dams on the Missouri River. As expected, September runoff above Sioux City, Iowa, remained well above normal, totaling 1.8 million acre feet (MAF), 157 percent of normal. The 2014 runoff forecast is 35.5 MAF, 141 percent of normal, down slightly from one month ago. Average annual runoff is 25.2 MAF.
