Confirmed collection of larval pallid sturgeon on the Missouri River

KANSAS CITY, Mo., – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports the discovery of the first two genetically-confirmed larval pallid sturgeon captured on the lower Missouri River near St. Louis. The two larval sturgeon were discovered as part of a sampling effort by the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Eagles Day to be held at Free State High School

Two Missouri River Recovery Program sites temporarily closed for construction

KANSAS CITY, Mo., – Two Missouri River Recovery Program sites have been temporarily closed to all public entry: Cranberry Bend project in Saline County and Cora Island project in St. Charles County, Mo. These closures allow construction of habitat improvement projects to commence at these locations to benefit native fish and wildlife resources including the endangered pallid sturgeon.

Ribbon cutting ceremony to be held at Stockton Lake

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District has been making upgrades to the Stockton Power Plant since the beginning of 2010. A ceremony to commemorate the completion of the Stockton Power Plant Rehabilitation project will be held on January 7, 2015, at 1 p.m., at the power plant at Stockton Lake.
