  • Notice of Availability of the Regional Streamflow Duration Assessment Methods for the Arid West, Western Mountains, and Great Plains

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Albuquerque, Chicago, Detroit, Fort Worth, Galveston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Omaha, Rock Island, Sacramento, San Francisco, St. Louis, St. Paul, and Tulsa Districts, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Regions 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 jointly announce the availability of the Regional Streamflow Duration Assessment Methods (Regional SDAMs) for the Arid West, Western Mountains and Great Plains. The methods are rapid assessment tools for distinguishing between ephemeral, intermittent, and perennial streamflow at the reach scale for the Arid West, Western Mountains and Great Plains regions.

    ILF PROGRAM SPONSOR: Watershed Land Trust PROJECT LOCATION: A 72.15-acre parcel located in Section 18, Township 18 South, Range 23 East, Miami County, Kansas. ACTIVITY: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District announces the proposed amendment of the Watershed Land Trust In-Lieu Fee Program Instrument. The Watershed Land Trust requests approval of the Miami County Stream and Wetland Mitigation Project. The Project will be used to replace lost aquatic resources that result from Department of the Army permits issued for the discharge of dredged or fill material into waters of the United States. The Project would generate wetland and stream mitigation credits in accordance with the approved ILF Program Instrument, Corps ILF No. NWK-2010-01443. Mitigation activities would include the establishment, enhancement and preservation of wetland resources, timber stand improvements, and in-stream grade control structures to provide streambed and streambank stability and habitat diversity.
