  • Public Notice: Little Blue River Programmatic Agreement

    Expiration date: 4/29/2026

    PROJECT INFORMATION: The United States Corps of Engineers (USACE) is partnering with the cities of Blue Springs, Grandview, Independence, Jackson County, Kansas City, Lee's Summit and Raytown, Missouri on the Little Blue River Flood Risk Management General Investigation Study. As part of its obligations under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, USACE is now developing a Programmatic Agreement (PA) in consultation with the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office, The Osage Nation, and Miami Tribe of Oklahoma. The PA will outline how USACE will identify, evaluate, and resolve adverse effects to historic properties that may be effected by the project. USACE also invites individuals and organizations with a demonstrated interest in the undertaking, and other members of the public to participate in the PA consultation process. All requests to participate must be received no later than April 30, 2026.
  • Notice of Availability: Seaplane Operations Policy at Wilson Lake Draft Environmental Assessment

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Kansas City District, has prepared a draft revision for the Seaplane Policy for Wilson Lake with an Environmental Assessment and a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) that are available for public review. A review was done in accordance with current seaplane policy guidance (ER/EP 1130-2-550, Chapter 11). These documents were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and existing Corps policy and regulations.

  • Smoky Hill Draft Feasibility Study and Integrated Environmental Assessment (EA) and associated unsigned Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI)

    INTRODUCTION: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District (USACENWK), has prepared a Draft Feasibility Study and Integrated Environmental Assessment (EA) and associated unsigned Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1968, as amended, for the Smoky Hill Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Project (Project). The Draft Study and Integrated EA was prepared to assess and document potential effects to the human and natural environment of the project’s Proposed Action. The USACE has made a preliminary determination that the proposed action would not result in significant degradation to the environment and therefore supports preparation of a Draft FONSI. The Draft Study and Integrated EA, Draft FONSI, and supporting information are provided with issuance of this Public Notice to initiate a 30-day public review and comment period.

  • Draft Feasibility Report and EA available for Little Blue River Flood Risk Management Study

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District (USACE) has prepared a Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Environmental Assessment (EA) in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) as part of the Little Blue River Flood Risk Management Study (Study). The Draft Integrated EA was prepared to assess and document potential effects to the human and natural environment of the proposed action. The USACE anticipates that the proposed action would not result in significant degradation to the environment. The Draft Integrated EA and supporting information are provided with issuance of this Public Notice to initiate a 30-day public review and comment period.

  • USDA ARS Plant Genetic Resources Unit: Proposed Poultry Laboratory in Columbia, Missouri

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, prepared an Environmental Assessment and a Finding of No Significant Impact for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Plant Genetic Resources Unit (PGRU) Poultry Laboratory Project. Both documents were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and existing USDA-ARS policy and regulations. The documents are available for review upon request.
