The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District (USACE-NWK), has prepared a Draft Integrated Feasibility Study Report and Environmental Assessment (EA) and associated unsigned Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1968, as amended, for the proposed restoration of degraded aquatic habitat in the Lower Osage River.
The Draft Integrated Report and EA, Draft FONSI, and supporting information are provided with issuance of this Public Notice to initiate a 30-day public review and comment period. Two public meetings will be held during this 30-day period, on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 at the Lewis & Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, MO and on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in the Tuscumbia High School Cafeteria, 526 School Road, Tuscumbia, MO. Both locations are ADA accessible.
Doors will open at 4:45 p.m. for both meetings. USACE will give a presentation at 5:00 p.m. to provide an overview of the study and the draft recommendations. Following a brief question and answer session, the public will be encouraged to submit formal written comments about the draft recommendations. The meetings will adjourn at 7:00 p.m. The same presentation will be delivered at both locations.
