The United States Corps of Engineers (USACE), in consultation with the City of Clinton, Missouri, the Missouri State Historic Preservation Officer, and The Osage Nation, is preparing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that outlines mitigation activities for adverse impacts to two prehistoric Native American archeological sites at Harry S. Truman Lake. The 2020 Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) states 180 acres shall be conveyed from USACE ownership to the City of Clinton. Members of the public are invited to participate in the MOA consultation process, per Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The period of public comment will end on September 30, 2024.
