  • Harry S. Truman Lake to adjust park availability and seasons

    The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is scheduled to make operational changes and closures at several campgrounds located at Harry S. Truman Lake due to underutilization. These changes are being made in an effort to improve park operating efficiencies, while still providing a quality recreational opportunity for the public.
  • Corps of Engineers to host 25th Eagle Days event at Smithville Lake

    SMITHVILLE, Mo.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites the public to Smithville Lake’s 25th Annual Eagle Days in Smithville, Mo., Jan. 4 and 5, 2020. The two-day event is highlighted by live predatory bird programs hosted by Operation Wildlife on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. at the Paradise Pointe Golf Course Complex. Several other vendors will participate Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Eagle viewing stations with spotting scopes and agency personnel will be available to help visitors view live eagles in the wild.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake will host Tuttle Creek Eagle Day, Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event begins at the fire station located on the corner of Denison and Kimball Avenues in Manhattan, Kan.
