  • Gate repair at Corps Stockton Lake

    Gates on the spillway at Stockton dam have been undergoing repairs to replace the wire ropes that lift each gate since November 2018. Wire ropes on one gate were successfully replaced in February 2019 and subsequently wire ropes were removed on another gate to begin repairs.
  • Corps to hold public meeting to discuss high water at Stockton Lake

    Due to above average water levels being held in Stockton Lake, the Kansas City District and lake project personnel will hold a public meeting at the Stockton Community Building, Monday, June 3, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Truman Dam functioning as designed: Open House Wednesday, March 13

    Harry S. Truman dam is functioning as designed and is not currently at risk of a structural failure or overtopping. There are no anticipated changes to routine operations and maintenance activities due to the new dam safety classification. No structural repairs are currently planned or deemed warranted at this time to lessen the overall dam safety risk.
  • Corps to Host Dam Safety Open House at Truman Lake Visitors Center

    The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a community open house Wednesday, March 13, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Harry S. Truman Dam Visitors Center, located at Truman Lake. The open house will provide the public an opportunity to become more aware of risks associated with living below a dam and current projects at the lake. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
  • Kanopolis Lake to conduct dive work and additional water releases in March

    Due to construction work at Kanopolis Lake, the lake will be drawn down an additional foot to elevation 1461.0 feet. Dive work associated with the construction work requires releases to be shut off for safety purposes.
