  • Increased fall releases from Rathbun Lake cancelled

    In response to concerns over ongoing levee assessments and repairs along the lower Chariton River and the Missouri River, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District will not conduct the previously announced increased releases from Rathbun Lake.
  • Adjusted releases approved for Kansas River Basin reservoirs

    The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was authorized a deviation from the operating manual for cumulative releases from reservoirs in the Kansas River Basin. This decision was made in consultation with the Missouri River Basin Water Management through a thorough impacts analysis that addresses the downstream impacts of increased release targets and upstream impacts of not evacuating all the stored flood waters in the reservoir projects.
  • Kansas City District holds change of command ceremony

    In historic military tradition, command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District transferred today from Col. Douglas B. Guttormsen to Col. William C. Hannan, Jr. In a ceremony at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Mo., Hannan received the traditional guidon from Guttormsen thus assuming command of the district.

    Due to above average water levels being held in Melvern Lake and Pomona Lake, the Kansas City District and lake project personnel will hold a public meeting at Lyndon High School auditorium from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2019.
  • Corps to conduct public meeting to discuss high water levels at Milford Lake

    Due to above average water levels being held in Milford Lake, the Kansas City District and lake project personnel will hold a public meeting at the Geary County 4-H & Senior Citizen Center, Junction City, Kan. from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019.
