  • Corps recommends caution on newly reopened Missouri River

    With the U.S. Coast Guard issuing Marine Safety Bulletin – MISB #01-19, Update #11 – opening the Missouri River for navigation from the mouth at St. Louis to Sioux City, Iowa – the Kansas City District urges caution to both commercial and recreational boaters. The Coast Guard recommends against boating in these conditions with the river still in moderate to major flood stages.
  • Stakeholders, customers see Corps Civil Works projects on river trip

    Stakeholders, customers and elected officials were guests of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District for the annual Missouri River Tour Aug. 16. The purpose of the trip aboard the district’s barge is to provide a first-hand look at the Civil Works projects the district builds and maintains along the Missouri River and to receive questions and comments from stakeholders.
  • Corps releasing water from Kansas reservoirs to support navigation

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District has recently begun releasing water from three area lakes in Kansas to provide navigation support on the Missouri River. The Missouri Basin Water Management Office requested on July 9 the Kansas City District begin providing navigation support.
