The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a public meeting on May 1, 2025, to discuss office consolidation efforts at Harry S. Truman Lake. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about the preliminary office consolidation effort for budget and design, and to discuss interests and concerns with the USACE team.

Current USACE office space at Harry S. Truman Lake is inadequate and unsafe; therefore, some project staff have been temporarily relocated. USACE has evaluated options to consolidate staff workspaces to achieve long term operation and maintenance efficiencies, if funding becomes available.

The recommendation is to consolidate the office space with the Visitor Center. This will provide the Visitor Center the ability to remain open and possibly expand the current hours of operation, to maintain efficient and effective levels of public education and interpretation missions while reducing future operational costs.

USACE is committed to keeping the Visitor Center open to the public at its current operating hours, will continue to share information with the public, and seek input on certain design elements of the office consolidation plan.
