Public scoping meeting to be held for Hillsdale Lake Master Plan revision

Officials will hold a public scoping meeting to discuss the Master Plan revision for Hillsdale Lake on February 29, 2024.

The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has begun the process of revising the Hillsdale Lake Master Plan, which was last updated in March 1978. The revision will bring the Master Plan up to date with current policy and regulations, land usage or designations, as well as consider current and projected visitation or recreational trends.

The Master Plan is the strategic land use management document that guides the comprehensive management and development of all recreational, natural and cultural resources throughout the life of the project. The Master Plan guides efficient and cost-effective management, development and use of project lands. It is a vital tool for the responsible stewardship and sustainability of project resources for the benefit of present and future generations.

USACE is providing interested parties an opportunity to offer recommendations on matters to be considered during the Master Plan revision process. Information about the public scoping meeting is below:

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Hillsdale Range & Training Center, 26719 Toe Road, Paola, Kansas.

If you are unable to attend the public scoping meeting, please submit comments via the Hillsdale Master Plan website at https://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/Locations/District-Lakes/Hillsdale-Lake/Master-Plan/Submit-a-Comment/ The comment form will be available starting February 9, 2024, and comments must be submitted by March 11, 2024.
