LAWRENCE, Kan. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake announce the application opening for the annual Special Archery Hunt at Bloomington, Rockhaven and Woodridge parks. Applications are due to the Clinton Lake Visitor Center by Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 by 4 p.m. The Special Archery Hunt will be held Nov. 1 – Dec. 31, 2018.

Hunting is not usually allowed in the park areas at Clinton Lake. The Corps of Engineers hosts this special permit, archery-only hunt in areas closed to hunting to prevent the overpopulation of deer.

Participants will be randomly selected from a pool of applicants and assigned a designated hunting unit. Those selected will choose a second hunter to accompany them. All participants are required to carry a special permit issued by the Corps of Engineers. All state and federal statutes apply.

For questions or to request an application contact the Clinton Lake Visitor Center at 785-843-7665.
