    Perry, Kan. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Perry Lake announce the opening of the application process for the annual Special Archery Hunt at Longview, Rock Creek Slough Creek parks and the Radio Tower Area (unit 9) starting Oct. 1, 2022 – Dec, 31, 2022. This is a specially permitted, archery-only hunting event. Hunting is not usually allowed in the park areas at Perry Lake; however, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hosts this annual hunt in areas that are closed to public hunting to prevent overpopulation of deer.

This is a specially permitted, archery-only hunting event.   • Kanopolis Lake to host virtual waterfowl blind permit drawing in September

    MARQUETTE, Kan. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Kanopolis Lake announce the annual waterfowl blind permit drawing. Due to the global pandemic and safety considerations for all, this event will be a virtual application process, completely done online. The random lottery drawing will be held by Kanopolis Lake staff to determine order of site selection and permit application for 12 waterfowl blind locations. The virtual application period will run from Saturday, August 28, 2021 through Sunday, September 12, 2021. Participants must be at least 16 years of age and only one member per household are allowed in the application process. Applications can be submitted by email to Ranger Beckman at Kanopolis@usace.army.mil or mailed to Kanopolis Lake Project Office; 105 Riverside Dr; Marquette, KS 67464. 
  • Stockton Lake to host annual managed deer hunt, some parks temporarily closed to public

    STOCKTON, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Stockton Lake and the Stockton Lions Club will host the 22nd Annual Stockton Lake Managed Deer Hunt for persons with physical disabilities Nov. 9-10, 2019, in Hawker Point, Masters and Orleans Trail South parks. To maintain a high level of safety, Hawker Point and Orleans Trail South parks will close Nov. 3 and will reopen Nov. 13. Masters Park will be closed to archery hunting and hiking on Nov. 9-10. Individuals planning activities in these areas should consider other options around the lake.
