LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake announce the opening of the application process for the annual Special Permit Archery Hunt at Bloomington, Rockhaven, and Woodridge Parks. Applicants will be randomly chosen and allowed to hunt is assigned, designated areas from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, 2017. Applications are due no later than 4:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2017.
Selected applicants may have another hunter accompany them to the assigned area. Each hunter will be required to carry a special permit issued by the Corps of Engineers. All state and federal hunting regulations and statues apply.
This is a special permit, archery only event. Hunting is not usually allowed in park areas at Clinton Lake. The Corps of Engineers hosts this annual hunt in areas that are closed to public hunting to help prevent overpopulation of deer.
