• Road scheduled to be closed temporarily at Truman Lake dam

    The West Dam Access Road for the Truman Lake dam, near Warsaw, Mo., is scheduled to be closed from Jan. 22 through March 1, 2019 to replace culverts. During this time, the road crossing the dam will also be closed due to scheduled work within the Truman Power Plant.
  • Eagle Day at Stockton Lake Jan. 12 - Corps lake in southwest Missouri

    The Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Stockton Lake near Stockton, Mo. will host an Eagle Day with partners on Jan. 12, 2019. At the beginning of each year, the Stockton Lake Association, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, and the Missouri Department of Conservation combine forces to bring the community a spectacle of nature’s beauty known as Eagle Day. The 25th annual Eagle Day will be held on January 12th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
  • Courtesy Docks Pulled on Truman Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers pulled courtesy docks at Corps managed boat ramps on Truman Lake. To reduce maintenance cost and to alleviate potential damage from icy conditions, courtesy docks have been pulled from the water at Truman Lake Corps of Engineers boat ramps during the Months of December and January. With this reductions in amenities offered, no day use fees will be collected during this timeframe. This action alleviates the need to monitor dock conditions during fluctuating lake levels and allows limited staff to concentrate on backlogged maintenance items. Project personnel plan to install courtesy docks at customary locations on or after February 1, 2019, or as lake conditions permit.
  • Corps to host Eagle Days event at Smithville Lake

    SMITHVILLE, Mo.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites the public to Smithville Lake’s 24th Annual Eagle Days in Smithville, Mo., Jan. 5 and 6, 2019. The two-day event is highlighted by live predatory bird programs hosted by Operation Wildlife on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. at the Paradise Pointe Golf Course Complex. Several other vendors will participate Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Eagle viewing stations with spotting scopes and agency personnel will be available to help visitor's view live eagles in the wild.
