Truman Master Plan - Notice of Availability

Kansas City District
Published Sept. 6, 2023

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Kansas City District, has prepared a draft Master Plan for Harry S. Truman Dam and Reservoir (Truman Lake) with an Environmental Assessment and a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) that are available for public review. These documents were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and existing Corps policy and regulations.

Truman Lake is a multi-purpose project located in the Osage River basin of west-central Missouri in Bates, Benton, Henry, Hickory, St. Clair, and Vernon Counties. The prior Master Plan for the project was prepared in 1988. Since that time, recreational use patterns, land usage, and populations of surrounding towns have changed. In addition, the regulations guiding master plans have been updated.
