The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, has prepared a draft Master Plan for Perry Lake with an Environmental Assessment and a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) that are available for public review. These documents were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and existing Corps policy and regulations.
Perry Lake is a multi-purpose project located in Jefferson County, Kansas. The prior Master Plan for the project was prepared in 1984. Since that time, recreational use patterns and populations of surrounding towns have changed. In addition, the regulations guiding master plans has also changed.
The Corps is soliciting public comments on the draft Master Plan, Environmental Assessment and FONSI during a 30-day review period that opens March 29, 2022 and will close April 29, 2022. A public meeting will be held on April 14, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at the Perry Lake Project Office, 10419 Perry Park Drive, Perry, KS 66073. If you can’t make the meeting, please send any comment pertaining to the Perry Lake Master Plan revision to Perry Lake Project Office at the address above or email to perry.lake@usace.army.mil. These documents are available for review on the Corps’ website at www.nwk.usace.army.mil/Media/PublicNotices.aspx .
