From a historic flood fight and recovery, several mega-projects, Military, Civil Works and Environmental projects, and support to our Army and Air Force Installations, the Kansas City District was focused across several key areas in 2019.
Multiple crews are currently performing geotechnical investigations along the Argentine, Armourdale, and CID levee units. The subsurface information collected provides essential data to ensure levees, floodwalls, and underseepage improvements are efficiently designed and constructed and fully perform during the next flood event.
It may be chilly and the plants may be threadbare this time of year, but there are still some beautiful sights out at the lake if you take the time to look! This sunset captivated Dec. 30, 2019 at Clinton Lake near Lawrence, Kan.
When visiting a Corps lake always wear a life jacket and swim in designated swim areas.
