With more than 250 miles of hiking trails, Kansas City District lakes offer a natural retreat from the hustle & bustle of the city. Spring is the best time to explore the outdoors with active wildlife & budding vegetation all around. Hit up a trailhead at a Corps lake & get “lost in the wildness”.
Locally, a ‘slab’ is considered a crappie fish measuring 15 inches or longer. Spring in the Heartland offers peak opportunity to catch crappie during the annual spawn. Come wet a line at a lake near you. Be sure to check your state and local fishing regulations before you grab your tackle this year.
