Boating basics to prepare for the holiday weekend

KANSAS CITY, Mo.,— Labor Day marks the end of summer for many lake visitors which also means boating and water-based recreation is coming to a close as well. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District manages 18 lakes that are popular boating destinations throughout Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska. Regardless of your skill level or motivation for heading to the lake this weekend, the Corps of Engineers encourages you to have fun and stay safe. Please review a few boating safety tips to help ensure a safe return home.

Truman Lake to hold annual managed deer hunt

WARSAW, Mo., — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Harry S. Truman Lake and The Masonic Lodge #653 will host the 25th Annual Truman Lake Managed Deer Hunt for persons with physical disabilities Nov. 8 and 9, 2014, at Shawnee Bend and Berry Bend Parks.
