MANHATTAN, Ks. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake invites the public to attend The Kansas Summer Sky Program at 9:15 p.m. Aug. 15th at 9:30 p.m. at the east end of the dam. Attendees will meet at the east dam parking lot and rangers will give directions to the top of the hill where the program will be held. The program is free and no vehicle permits are require and it is open to all ages.
Dr. Chris Sorensen, distinguished professor of Physics at K-State, will conduct the program. Sorensen will interpret what we see in the Kansas Summer Sky. He will also have a few telescopes with him, but visitors are encouraged to bring their own telescopes, if they have them, and any questions they have about the night sky. Visitors can also bring lawn chairs, if available. It will be a fun and educational evening!
