Corps seeking comments on master plan revision

KANSAS CITY, Mo.,—The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District is in the process of revising the Pomme de Terre Lake master plan and is offering the opportunity for recommendations from the public on issues to be considered. The current plan is dated August 1988, and the revision would bring it up to date with current policy and regulations, as well as take into account current and projected visitation and recreation trends. The master plan is the strategic land use management document that guides the comprehensive management and development of all project recreational, natural, and cultural resources throughout the life of the project. The master plan guides efficient and cost-effective management, development, and use of project lands. It is a vital tool for the responsible stewardship and sustainability of project resources for the benefit of present and future generations. For anyone interested in offering recommendations on issues to be considered during the master plan revision process, comments may be sent to the Pomme de Terre Project Office, Rt. 2 Box 2160, Hermitage, MO, 65668.
