MANHATTAN, Kan.—The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake invites the public to attend “The Kansas Summer Sky” astronomy program on Saturday, June 21, at 9:30 p.m.
Participants should meet at the parking lot on the east end of Tuttle Creek Dam. The program is free, and no vehicle permits are required. All ages are invited to attend.
Dr. Christopher Sorensen, Kansas State University Distinguished Physics Professor, will conduct the program. He will be discussing various stars, constellations, and other interesting features of “The Kansas Summer Sky.” He will also bring a telescope. People are urged to bring their own telescopes, flashlights, star charts, and lawn chairs, if available. It is predicted to be both a fun and educational evening!
