Clinton Lake parks winterized for the season

Published Dec. 12, 2013

LAWRENCE, Kan.—The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake has closed and winterized most of the park areas for the winter.

This means that all flush toilet facilities are closed. Most hydrants and all water fountains are shut off for the winter. Vault (non-waterborne) toilets are still available for use.

Bloomington East, Bloomington West and Rockhaven Parks, are all closed to camping until April 2014.

Woodridge Park remains open to primitive, tent only, camping. All areas are open to walk-in, day use, such as hiking and picnicking. Potable water is available at Woodridge Park, but has been shut off at Rockhaven Park and the Bloomington East/West Parks, until spring.

Overlook Park remains open for day use. The vault toilet is open. Water is available at a hydrant between the vault toilet and Shelter #2.

Bloomington Boat Ramps 4, 5, 6 and 7 remain open for boat launching, but the courtesy docks have been pulled onto land, due to ice potential.

The Outlet Park fishing access remains open. There is no water available there. The vault toilet is open.
