National Public Lands Day is a nation-wide event which encourages the public to volunteer their time to help care for, or simply to get out and enjoy, their public lands. In 2012, 124 USACE lakes celebrated NPLD with 16,000 volunteers! Land managers brought these volunteers together to clean 1,800 miles of shoreline and maintain 111 miles of trails. In addition, 4,700 trees and shrubs were planted around Corps projects. We want you to be a part of this nationwide initiative this year. Let's continue this tradition of NPLD excellence!
