KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The Kansas City District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers along with officials from the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Emergency Services Building scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 1 p.m.
The new center will consolidate functions that are currently divided between several existing facilities such as the Fire Department, Dispatch Center and Security Office at Lake City.
The contract was awarded for approximately $6.4 million to TMG Services, Inc. out of North Kansas City, Mo.
The ceremony will be held onsite at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. For access onto the plant, contact the Lake City Public Affairs Officer at 816-796-7157. Visitors will need to stop and check in with the security guards at the Main Gate. A roster will be provided to verify attendees. Once attendee(s) has been verified directions and further instructions will be provided to the location of the ceremony.
