53rd U.S. Army Chief of Engineers tours Missouri River

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—  Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, the 53rd U.S. Army Corps of Engineers commanding general and U.S. Army chief of engineers visited numerous sights along the Missouri River for a comprehensive overview of the challenges along the river today.

 

Bostick was briefed on many of the issues and concerns along the Missouri River to include aerial site inspections of key areas affected by last year’s historic flood event along with the progress and rehabilitation of many of those sites.

 

During his visit, Bostick visited with city, state and county officials to hear their concerns as they relate to the river.

 

Bostick assumed command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers earlier this week in a ceremony conducted in Washington D.C.
