Contracts awarded to repair flood damage

KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The Kansas City District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently awarded two contracts to repair 2011 flood damage to levees along the Missouri River.

A contract was awarded to AJL Precision Group Inc. of Kansas City, Mo. on April 5 for $877,000 to repair the Kansas Department of Corrections Levee in, which was breached. The levee is located in Leavenworth County.

A contract was awarded to Hill Brothers Construction Company, Inc. on April 10 for approximately $1.1 million to repair the Holt County No. 9 Levee, which was breached.

A total of ten contracts have been awarded to date, and 21 contract solicitations are in progress. The Kansas City District has restored protection to three levees—North Kansas City, Rushville-Sugar Lake and Wakenda levees.
