Public invited to attend open house for Former Nebraska Ordnance Plant

Three solar arrays, including this one at the Main Treatment Plant, help power groundwater treatment at Mead, resulting in a savings of over 500,000 kilowatt hours of energy to date.

Officials will host an open house on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, to provide information about the Former Nebraska Ordnance Plant.

The open house will be hosted by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and project personnel will be available to provide and interpret groundwater sampling results and other site data. There will be a brief informational presentation on the 2022 Containment Evaluation. Anyone interested in learning more about the project is encouraged to attend.

The open house will be held from 4:30 p.m. to7:00 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Country Club in Yutan, Nebraska. The VFW Country Club is located south of Highway 92 at 1581 Yutan Road.
