Updates to status of recreation areas at Truman Lake

Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Published July 19, 2019

The staff of Truman Lake would like to share several updates on recreation areas at the lake.

Thibaut Point Campground is open.  Osage Bluff Campground opened Friday, July 19, 2019. All other campgrounds remain closed at this time.

Berry Bend High Water Ramp, Sparrowfoot Ramp, and Sac River Access are the Corps ramps that are open at this time.  We anticipate that we will open Shawnee Bend High Water Ramp by Friday, July 26, 2019.  While the parking lot is now out of the water, we want to give the asphalt plenty of dry time so that roadways are not damaged by allowing traffic too early.

All beaches, as well as Cooper Creek Riding Area are still closed due to flooding.

Please continue to contact the marinas and Truman State Park for information on their facilities.

Please call Harry S. Truman Lake with questions at 660-438-7317.
