STOCKTON, Mo.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Stockton Lake invite public comments regarding shoreline management. The final draft Shoreline Management Plan for Stockton Lake establishes policy and furnishes guidelines for the protection and preservation of the desirable environmental characteristics of the shoreline while maintaining a balance between public and private shoreline use.
Those interested in the future shoreline activity use around Stockton Lake are invited to provide comments on the final draft Shoreline Management Plan. Examples of permitted activities include the existing boat dock as well as mowing for firebreaks and in order to maintain a clear boundary between public and private property. Written comments on the plan will be accepted through Oct. 31, 2018 via e-mail to Stockton@usace.army.mil or mailed to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Stockton Project Office, 16435 E. Stockton Lake Dr., Stockton, MO 65785.
