Stockton Lake cleanup event scheduled

The U.S Army Corps of Engineers at Stockton Lake are teaming up with National Public Lands Day, Missouri Stream Team and the Kansas City Frogman Dive Club to host the 22nd Annual Stockton Lake Cleanup Event on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 8 a.m.

STOCKTON, Mo. The U.S Army Corps of Engineers at Stockton Lake are teaming up with National Public Lands Day, Missouri Stream Team and the Kansas City Frogman Dive Club to host the 22nd Annual Stockton Lake Cleanup Event on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 8 a.m. Lunch and prizes will be provided to volunteers following the event at noon.

“Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks to include picking up litter on the shoreline, beaches and boat ramps and trail maintenance planting trees, flowers and shrubs,” informed Clint Moore, Stockton Lake park ranger. “We ask that volunteers register prior to the event and meet at 8 a.m. at the Cedar Gap Shelter adjacent to the Senator Christopher “Kit” Bond Visitor Center and Administration Building to kick off the event.”

Area merchants and business leaders also have supported the event by donating prizes and lunch to all participants.
