Tuttle Creek campgrounds to open for 2018 – with changes

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake will open campgrounds for the 2018 camping season on April 15, inclusive of water and electrical hookups. Camping fees are required for stays beginning the night of April 15, 2018.

New for the 2018 season, all campsites at Stockdale Campground will be available by remotely paid reservation only. Campers wishing to stay in Stockdale must make a reservation prior to occupying a campsite. The only accepted payment method will be credit or debit card sales processed remotely thru the national reservation service. Cash, check or other methods of on-site payment are NO LONGER accepted.

Campers can make reservations at Stockdale Campground as early as six months in advance of the stay or as late as upon arrival to the campground by going online at http://www.recreation.gov or by calling 877-345-6777. The site updates availability as campers make reservations. Senior/Access discounts are applicable to cardholders who provide their card number to the website or operator.

"This change will provide an avenue to bring existing campground operating costs in line with the available budget, prepare a consistent path for our future, and most importantly provide our customers, the best and most efficient service," said Melissa Bean, Park Manager.

Tuttle Creek Cove will continue to accept cash, check, credit, or debit sales and provide a self-pay (honor vault) option.
