Special Youth Turkey Hunt scheduled for Clinton Lake

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Clinton Lake will host a special Youth Turkey Hunt October 16 through October 22, 2017. Applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017.

Five hunters between the ages of 10 and 16 will be drawn from the pool of applicants. These lucky hunters will be assigned an area which is open to hunting only for the purpose of this event. The Clinton Lake Youth Turkey Hunt encourages young hunters to get outdoors while learning to hunt in a controlled environment.

Hunters must be assisted by an adult mentor, be in compliance with Kansas statutes and are required to obtain a special hunt permit issued by the Corps of Engineers.
