WARSAW, Mo.— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Truman Lake is participating in an extended camping pilot program for the next three recreation seasons to evaluate public demand for long-term camping. The program allows our customers to stay on designated campsites for up to 45 continuous nights and does not require daily or overnight occupancy.
The campgrounds participating in this program are: Berry Bend, Sparrowfoot, Bucksaw, and Long Shoal. This program will begin on July 5, 2017, following the holiday weekend. In 2018 and 2019, the program will begin on April 15 and end on October 15, 2019. Please note that this program does not pertain to the winter months (October 16-April 14). An extended stay campsite permit will be required prior to the start of your stay. Fees will remain the same as all other sites—($20/night). America the Beautiful discount passes will be accepted.
All designated extended camping campsite maps may be found at the park attendant booths at participating campgrounds (listed above), Harry S. Truman Project Office, and Harry S. Truman Visitor Center. Those interested can also refer to our Facebook page for information on designated sites.
We hope this provides our users more options to be able to enjoy your time at Truman Lake.
