  • Kanopolis Lake announces updated trout fishing access for upcoming season

    Due to an ongoing construction project at the Kanopolis Lake stilling basin, trout stocking and public fishing access at Sand Creek will be modified for the upcoming 2025–2026 fishing season. The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks manages the trout stocking program, while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manage the area.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers launches nationwide Recreation Operational Status website

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has launched its Recreation Operational Status website to keep the public informed about the operational status of USACE recreation areas nationwide. The public can visit the website at https://corpslakes.erdc.dren.mil/visitors/status.cfm?state=Map and click on any state for the current overall status of a recreation area and for the status of campgrounds, boat ramps and beaches owned and operated by USACE within the area. The site will be regularly updated with any status changes.
  • Tuttle Creek Lake stilling basin construction nears completion

    The Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Lake are nearing completion of the stilling basin construction project with the departure of the contractor from the site. The Stilling Basin (locally known as the “tubes”) is scheduled to be reopened to the public sometime in mid-August, depending on weather conditions effecting final work.
