Additional swimming beaches closed at Truman Lake

Published May 29, 2015

WARSAW, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Harry S. Truman Lake announces the immediate closure of additional swimming beaches on the lake due to high lake levels.

Thibaut Point Beach and Long Shoal Beach were closed earlier this week due to flooding. Windsor Crossing and Bucksaw beaches will close on May 30, also due to high water levels. The beaches will re-open as soon as the lake returns to a safe level. Berry Bend Beach remains closed due to elevated E. Coli levels, in addition to flooding. The only Corps beach at Truman Lake that remains open for swimming is Shawnee Bend.
