No Campfires at Kanopolis Lake

Published July 25, 2012

The hot, dry weather has prompted the Kanopolis Lake Staff to implement a burn ban effective immediately. Until further notice the following actives will be prohibited:

No Campfires
The use of open face barbeques grills are banned
The Marina Firework Display has been postponed

Ellsworth County has also banned the discharge of fireworks in all unincorporated areas.

Campers will still be allowed the use of their personal propane/charcoal/pellet grills but they must be fully contained (no open face). Spent charcoals that are cold will be allowed to be dispensed in fire rings.

These preventive measures will remain in place until considerable rain fall is received and local emergency management lifts the bans.

Thank you for your cooperation during this extreme time of fire danger.
